Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
धवककुभकदम्बनारिकेलै: कुरबककेतकजम्बुपाटलाभि: । वटवरुणकवत्सना भबिल्वै: सरलकपित्थप्रियालसालतालै:
dhavakkubhakadambanārikelaiḥ kurabakaketakajambupāṭalābhiḥ | vaṭavaruṇakavatsanā bhabilvaiḥ saralakapitthapriyālasālatālaiḥ ||
ವಾಸುದೇವನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಧವ, ಕಕುಭ, ಕದಂಬ, ನಾರಿಕೇಳ, ಕುರುಬಕ, ಕೇತಕ, ಜಂಬೂ, ಪಾಟಲ, ವಟ, ವರುಣಕ, ವತ್ಸನಾಭ, ಬಿಲ್ವ, ಶರಲ, ಕಪಿತ್ಥ, ಪ್ರಿಯಾಲ, ಶಾಲ, ತಾಳ—ಇಂತಹ ಅನೇಕ ಹೂ-ಹಣ್ಣು ನೀಡುವ ಕಾಡುಮರಗಳು ಆ ಆಶ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದ್ದವು. ಅದು ಪುಷ್ಪಗಳು, ಪೊದೆಗಳು, ಲತೆಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿತ್ತು; ಬಾಳೆತೋಟಗಳು ಅದರ ಶೋಭೆಯನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿತು.
