Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
वल्गते जृम्भते चैव रुदते रोदयत्यपि । उन्मत्तमत्तरूपं च भाषते चापि सुस्वर:
valgati jṛmbhate caiva rudate rodayaty api | unmattamattarūpaṃ ca bhāṣate cāpi susvaraḥ ||
ವಾಸುದೇವನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಭಗವಾನ್ ರುದ್ರನು ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ಕುಣಿದು ಹಾರುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಜಂಭಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಅಳುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಇತರರನ್ನೂ ಅಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ಉನ್ಮತ್ತನಂತೆ ಅಥವಾ ಮದಗೊಂಡವನಂತೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಮಧುರ ಸ್ವರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ವಚನಗಳನ್ನು ಉಚ್ಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
