Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
रुद्रभवत्या तु कृष्णेन जगद् व्याप्तं महात्मना । त॑ं प्रसाद्य तदा देवं बदर्या किल भारत
rudrabhavatyā tu kṛṣṇena jagad vyāptaṃ mahātmanā | taṃ prasādya tadā devaṃ badaryā kila bhārata ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ರುದ್ರಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಯುಕ್ತನಾದ ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಈ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ವ್ಯಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಓ ಭಾರತ! ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾದೇವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸನ್ನಗೊಳಿಸಿ, ದಿವ್ಯದೃಷ್ಟಿಯುಳ್ಳ ಮಹೇಶ್ವರನಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಮಿಗಿಲಾದ ಪ್ರಿಯತ್ವಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದನು; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲ ಲೋಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪ್ರಿಯತಮನಾದನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
