अष्टमेन तु भक्तेन जीवन्‌ संवत्सरं नृप

Transliteration

aṣṭamena tu bhaktena jīvan saṃvatsaraṃ nṛpa

Translation

ಹೇ ರಾಜನೇ! ‘ಅಷ್ಟಮ ಭಕ್ತಿ’ಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷ ನಿಯಮಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಜೀವಿಸುವವನು, ಅಭಿಪ್ರೇತ ಧರ್ಮಫಲವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲ ಶಿಸ್ತಿನಿಂದ ನಿಂತ ಭಕ್ತಿಯೇ ಧರ್ಮಸಾಧನವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
