Āloka-dāna (Dīpa-dāna), Sumanas–Dhūpa–Dīpa Phala: Manu–Suvarṇa and Śukra–Bali Exempla
द्विविधो हि स्मृतो गन्ध इष्टोडनिष्ट श्व पुष्पज: । इष्टगन्धानि देवानां पुष्पाणीति विभावय
dvividho hi smṛto gandha iṣṭo 'niṣṭaś ca puṣpajaḥ | iṣṭagandhāni devānāṁ puṣpāṇīti vibhāvaya ||
ಶುಕ್ರನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಪುಷ್ಪಗಳಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಗುವ ಗಂಧವು ಎರಡು ವಿಧವೆಂದು ಸ್ಮೃತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ: ಇಷ್ಟ (ಪ್ರಿಯ) ಮತ್ತು ಅನಿಷ್ಟ (ಅಪ್ರಿಯ). ಇದನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೋ—ಇಷ್ಟಗಂಧವುಳ್ಳ ಸುಗಂಧ ಪುಷ್ಪಗಳು ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿವೆ.
