भीष्म उवाच अन्न ते वर्तयिष्यामि शृणु राजन्‌ यथाक्रमम्‌ । ऋषीणां वदतां पूर्व श्रुतमासीत्‌ यथा पुरा

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | anna te vartayiṣyāmi śṛṇu rājan yathākramam | ṛṣīṇāṃ vadatāṃ pūrvaṃ śrutam āsīt yathā purā ||

Translation

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ರಾಜನೇ, ಈಗ ನಾನು ಈ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಗಮನದಿಂದ ಕೇಳು. ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಋಷಿಗಳು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ನಾನು ಹೇಗೆ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೆನೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
