Jaratkāru’s Marital Compact and Departure (जरत्कारु–जरत्कारुणी संवादः)
त॑ दग्ध्वा स नगं॑ नाग: काश्यपं पुनरब्रवीत् । कुरु यत्नं द्विजश्रेष्ठ जीवयैनं वनस्पतिम्,इस प्रकार उस वृक्षको जलाकर नागराज पुन: काश्यपसे बोला--'द्विजश्रेष्ठ] अब तुम यत्न करो और इस वृक्षको जिला दो”
taṁ dagdhvā sa nagaṁ nāgaḥ kāśyapaṁ punar abravīt | kuru yatnaṁ dvijaśreṣṭha jīvayainaṁ vanaspatim ||
ಆ ಮರವನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟುಹಾಕಿದ ಬಳಿಕ, ನಾಗರಾಜನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಕಾಶ್ಯಪನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು—“ಓ ದ್ವಿಜಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ! ಈಗ ನೀನು ಯತ್ನಿಸಿ ಈ ವನಸ್ಪತಿಯನ್ನು ಜೀವಂತಗೊಳಿಸು.”
