वैशम्पायन उवाच यदर्थ शार्कईकानग्निर्न ददाह तथागते । तत्‌ ते सर्व प्रवक्ष्यामि यथाभूतमरिंदम

Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca | yadarthaṃ śārkāikān agnir na dadāha tathāgate | tat te sarvaṃ pravakṣyāmi yathābhūtam ariṃdama ||

Translation

ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಓ ಶತ್ರುದಮನ! ಆ ಭೀಕರ ಅಗ್ನಿಕಾಂಡ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದರೂ ಅಗ್ನಿದೇವನು ಯಾವ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಶಾರ್ಕಈಕರನ್ನು ದಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಮತ್ತು ಆ ಘಟನೆ ಯಥಾವಿಧಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೇಗೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು—ಅದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಕೇಳು.
