Educational Q&A

The verse links ethical kingship with social flourishing: when a ruler is grounded and principled, prosperity becomes stable, counsel becomes oriented to the highest good, and dharma expands throughout the realm.

Vaiśampāyana describes the condition of the world under Yudhiṣṭhira’s rule: fortune is no longer wavering, the collective intelligence/counsel is steady in right purpose, and dharma grows among the kings and the wider polity.
