Cause of Kalmāṣapāda’s Niyoga under a Curse
तस्यां संजनयामास कुरुं संवरणो नृपः । तपत्यां तपतां श्रेष्ठ तापत्यस्त्वं ततोडर्जुन
tasyāṁ sañjanayāmāsa kuruṁ saṁvaraṇo nṛpaḥ | tapatyāṁ tapatāṁ śreṣṭha tāpatyās tvaṁ tato ’rjuna ||
ರಾಜ ಸಂವರಣನು ತಪತಿಯ ಗರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುರುವನನ್ನು ಜನ್ಮಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಹೇ ತಪಸ್ವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನಾದ ಅರ್ಜುನ, ಆ ವಂಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ನೀನು ‘ತಾಪತ್ಯ’ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತೀಯ।
