Vasiṣṭhasya śokaḥ, Vipāśā–Śatadrū-nāmākaraṇam, Kalmāṣapādasya bhaya-prasaṅgaḥ (Ādi Parva 167)

ज्वालावर्णो घोररूप: किरीटी वर्म चोत्तमम्‌ | बिभ्रत्‌ सखड्‌ग: सशरो धनुष्मान्‌ विनदन्‌ मुहुः

jvālāvarṇo ghorarūpaḥ kirīṭī varma cottamam | bibhrat sa-khaḍgaḥ sa-śaraḥ dhanuṣmān vinadan muhuḥ ||

ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಅವನ ಅಂಗಕಾಂತಿ ಅಗ್ನಿಜ್ವಾಲೆಯ ವರ್ಣದಂತೆ ದಹಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಅವನ ರೂಪ ಭಯಂಕರವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಿರೀಟ ಹೊಳೆಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು; ಅಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಕವಚ ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದನು. ಖಡ್ಗ, ಬಾಣಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಧನುಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಅವನು ಮರುಮರು ಗರ್ಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
