Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)

प्रसह बन्धने बद्ध्वा प्रशासिष्ये वसुंधराम्‌ । एवं स निश्चयं पाप: कृत्वा दुर्योधनस्तदा । नित्यमेवान्तरप्रेक्षी भीमस्यासीन्महात्मन:

prasaha bandhane baddhvā praśāsiṣye vasuṃdharām | evaṃ sa niścayaṃ pāpaḥ kṛtvā duryodhanas tadā | nityam evāntaraprekṣī bhīmasyāsīn mahātmanaḥ ||

“ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಲವಂತವಾಗಿ ಬಂಧನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಹಾಕಿ ನಾನು ವಸುಂಧರೆಯನ್ನು ಆಳುವೆನು.” ಎಂದು ಪಾಪಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿದ ದುರ್ಯೋಧನನು, ಆ ಕಾಲದಿಂದಲೇ ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಭೀಮನಿಗೆ ಹಾನಿ ಮಾಡುವ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಸದಾ ಕಾದು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
