Droṇa–Drupada Saṃvāda and Droṇa’s Reception at the Kuru Court (द्रोण-द्रुपद-संवादः; कुरुनगरप्रवेशः)
अधर्मेण न नो धर्म: संयुज्यति कथंचन । लोकक्षायं वरारोहे धर्मोडयमिति मन्यते
adharmeṇa na no dharmaḥ saṁyujyati kathaṁcana | lokakṣāyaṁ varārohe dharmo ’yam iti manyate |
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— “ಅಧರ್ಮದಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಧರ್ಮವು ಯಾವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ಅಧರ್ಮದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ವರಾರೋಹೆಯೇ! ಲೋಕವೂ ಇದನ್ನೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ಧರ್ಮವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ—ಲೋಕನಾಶವನ್ನು ತಡೆಯುವ ಧರ್ಮವೆಂದು. ಧರ್ಮದಿಂದ ಜನಿಸುವ ಪುತ್ರನು ಕುರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಧರ್ಮಿಷ್ಠನಾಗುವನು; ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಧರ್ಮದಿಂದ ದತ್ತನಾದ ಪುತ್ರನ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಅಧರ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ರಮಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಶುಚಿಸ್ಮಿತೆಯೇ! ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮತ್ತು ಇಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸಿ, ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಮುಂಚಿಟ್ಟು, ಯೋಗ್ಯ ಪೂಜೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಧಿಬದ್ಧ ಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಧರ್ಮದೇವತೆಯನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸು।”
