पाण्डुरुवाच अप्रजस्य महाभागा न द्वारं परिचक्षते

Transliteration

pāṇḍur uvāca aprajasya mahābhāgā na dvāraṃ paricakṣate |

Translation

ಪಾಂಡು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಓ ಮಹಾಭಾಗ್ಯವಂತ ಋಷಿಗಳೇ! ಸಂತಾನವಿಲ್ಲದವನಿಗೆ ಸ್ವರ್ಗದ ದ್ವಾರ ತೆರೆಯದು ಎಂದು ಜನರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಾನೂ ಸಂತಾನಹೀನನು; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ದುಃಖದಿಂದ ದಗ್ಧನಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ವಿನಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಓ ತಪೋಧನರೇ! ನಾನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಪಿತೃಋಣದಿಂದ ಮುಕ್ತನಾಗಿಲ್ಲ; ಅದರಿಂದ ಚಿಂತೆಯಿಂದ ಕಲುಷಿತನಾಗಿ ತಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
