भीष्मस्य चास्य वचनान्नियोगाच्च ममानघ । अनुक्रोशाच्च भूतानां सर्वेषां रक्षणाय च
bhīṣmasya cāsya vacanān niyogāc ca mamānagha | anukrośāc ca bhūtānāṃ sarveṣāṃ rakṣaṇāya ca ||
ಓ ನಿರಪರಾಧಿಯೇ! ಭೀಷ್ಮನ ವಚನಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಧೇಯತೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ನನ್ನ ನಿಯೋಗದಿಂದಲೂ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಎಲ್ಲ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕರುಣೆಯಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲರ ರಕ್ಷಣಾರ್ಥವೂ ಇದು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಯಿತು.
