FAQs

Indirectly: it highlights buddhi (discernment/resolve) and anuśāsana (right instruction) as the means by which a great soul aligns action with dharma—an outer sign of inner steadiness associated with Self-knowledge in Purāṇic teaching.

No specific technique is named, but the verse points to the yogic framework of disciplined discernment (buddhi) and guidance from realized teachers (ṛṣis/īśvara-anuśāsana), which underlies Pāśupata-style restraint, right conduct, and focused intention.

By emphasizing instruction (anuśāsana) and boon-giving (varadāna) as divine functions, it supports the Kurma Purana’s integrative stance: the same supreme governance and grace operate across Vaiṣṇava (Kṛṣṇa) and Śaiva-oriented dharma-yoga teachings.
