uṣṇamannaṃ dvijātibhyo dātavyaṃ śreya icchatā / anyatra phalamūlebhyaḥ pānakebhyastathaiva ca

Translation

ಶ್ರೇಯಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಬಯಸುವವನು ದ್ವಿಜಾತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಿಸಿ, ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ತಯಾರಿಸಿದ ಅನ್ನವನ್ನು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು; ಆದರೆ ಹಣ್ಣು‑ಬೇರುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪಾನಕಗಳು (ಪಾನೀಯಗಳು) ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪವಾದ—ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬೇರೆ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ನೀಡಬಹುದು।
