श्रीराजोवाच देवासुरनृणां सर्गो नागानां मृगपक्षिणाम् । सामासिकस्त्वया प्रोक्तो यस्तु स्वायम्भुवेऽन्तरे ॥ १ ॥ तस्यैव व्यासमिच्छामि ज्ञातुं ते भगवन् यथा । अनुसर्गं यया शक्त्या ससर्ज भगवान् पर: ॥ २ ॥
śrī-rājovāca devāsura-nṛṇāṁ sargo nāgānāṁ mṛga-pakṣiṇām sāmāsikas tvayā prokto yas tu svāyambhuve ’ntare
ಶ್ರೀರಾಜನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಸ್ವಾಯಂಭುವ ಮನ್ವಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರು, ಅಸುರರು, ಮಾನವರು, ನಾಗರು, ಮೃಗಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ನೀವು ಸಂಕ್ಷೇಪವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಈಗ, ಹೇ ಭಗವನ್, ಅದನ್ನೇ ವಿವರವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಯಲು ಬಯಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಪರಮ ಭಗವಂತನು ಯಾವ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಅನುಸೃಷ್ಟಿ (ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ)ಯನ್ನು ಸೃಜಿಸಿದನು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿಯಲು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ।
