Vṛtrāsura Rebukes Indra; Heroic Combat and the Asura’s Pure Devotional Prayers
विलोक्य तं वज्रधरोऽत्यमर्षित: स्वशत्रवेऽभिद्रवते महागदाम् । चिक्षेप तामापततीं सुदु:सहां जग्राह वामेन करेण लीलया ॥ ९ ॥
vilokya taṁ vajra-dharo ’tyamarṣitaḥ sva-śatrave ’bhidravate mahā-gadām cikṣepa tām āpatatīṁ suduḥsahāṁ jagrāha vāmena kareṇa līlayā
ವೃತ್ರಾಸುರನ ಆ ಧೋರಣೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ವಜ್ರಧಾರಿ ಇಂದ್ರನು ಅತಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು, ಎದುರಿಸಲು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ದುಸ್ಸಹವಾದ ಮಹಾಗದೆಯನ್ನು ಶತ್ರುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಸೆದನು. ಆದರೆ ಹಾರಿಬಂದ ಆ ಗದೆಯನ್ನು ವೃತ್ರಾಸುರನು ಎಡಗೈಯಿಂದ ಲೀಲೆಯಂತೆ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡನು।
