एतत् कल्पविकल्पस्य प्रमाणं परिकीर्तितम् । यत्र मन्वन्तराण्याहुश्चतुर्दश पुराविद: ॥ ११ ॥

etat kalpa-vikalpasya pramāṇaṁ parikīrtitam yatra manvantarāṇy āhuś caturdaśa purāvidaḥ

Translation

ಓ ರಾಜನೇ, ಒಂದು ಕಲ್ಪವೆಂದರೆ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನ ಒಂದು ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ವಿಕಲ್ಪ’ವೆನ್ನಲ್ಪಡುವ ಅನೇಕ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಗಳು ಸಂಭವಿಸುತ್ತವೆ; ಅದರ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮುಂಚೆಯೇ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಪುರಾಣಜ್ಞರು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ಮನ್ವಂತರಗಳಿವೆ ಎಂದು ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
