Sukta 140
व्रीहिमत्तं यवमत्तमथो माषमथो तिलम्। एष वां भागो निहितो रत्नधेयाय दन्तौ मा हिंसिष्टं पितरं मातरं च
vrī́himattaṃ yávamattaṃ átho mā́ṣam átho tílam | eṣá vā́ṃ bhā́go níhito ratnadhéyāya dantau mā́ hiṃsiṣṭaṃ pitáraṃ mātáraṃ ca ||
Rice-laden, barley-laden, and also beans, and also sesame—this is your portion here laid down for treasure’s bestowal. O ye two Teeth, harm not the father, harm not the mother also.
ಅಕ್ಕಿಯಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದದು, ಯವದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದದು, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಷ (ಉದ್ದು/ಕಾಳು) ಮತ್ತು ತಿಲ—ಇದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾಲು; ರತ್ನಧೇಯ (ಧನ-ಪ್ರದಾನ)ಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಓ ಎರಡು ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳೇ, ತಂದೆಗೆ ಹಾನಿ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿ, ತಾಯಿಗೂ ಹಾನಿ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿ.
