रसा तां जगाम ह मोहिनीं प्राप्य मतिमान् स्त्रियः केशामधारयदिति ग, चिह्नितपुस्तकपाठः तत्र तत्र महातीर्थं क्षेत्राणामुत्तमोत्तममिति ग, चिह्नितपुस्तकपाठः अथ चतुर्थो ऽध्यायः वराहाद्यवतारवर्णनं अग्निर् उवाच अवतारं वराहस्य वक्ष्ये ऽहं पापनाशनम् हिरण्याक्षो ऽसुरेशो ऽभूत् देवान् जित्वा दिवि स्थितः
rasā tāṃ jagāma ha mohinīṃ prāpya matimān striyaḥ keśāmadhārayaditi ga, cihnitapustakapāṭhaḥ tatra tatra mahātīrthaṃ kṣetrāṇāmuttamottamamiti ga, cihnitapustakapāṭhaḥ atha caturtho 'dhyāyaḥ varāhādyavatāravarṇanaṃ agnir uvāca avatāraṃ varāhasya vakṣye 'haṃ pāpanāśanam hiraṇyākṣo 'sureśo 'bhūt devān jitvā divi sthitaḥ
(ಕೆಲವು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾದ ಹಸ್ತಪ್ರತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಠಾಂತರಗಳಿವೆ—“ರಸಾ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದಳು”, “ಮೋಹಿನಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತನು ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನು ಕೂದಲಿನಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದನು”, ಮತ್ತು “ಇಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾತೀರ್ಥಗಳು; ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದು ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ” ಎಂದು.) ಈಗ ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯ ಆರಂಭ—ವರಾಹಾದಿ ಅವತಾರವರ್ಣನೆ. ಅಗ್ನಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು—“ಪಾಪನಾಶಕವಾದ ವರಾಹಾವತಾರವನ್ನು ನಾನು ವರ್ಣಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಹಿರಣ್ಯಾಕ್ಷನು ಅಸುರಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದನು; ದೇವರನ್ನು ಜಯಿಸಿ ಸ್ವರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಿರನಾದನು.”
