Suta Goswami (narrating the prescribed Śaiva rite to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It teaches that outer ritual purity—fire-sanctification, mantra-recitation, and careful cleansing—supports inner purity, aligning the devotee (paśu) toward Śiva (Pati) through disciplined, devotional action.
The verse prepares sanctified, mantra-purified substance (typically water for abhiṣeka) to be offered to the Śiva-liṅga, emphasizing Saguna worship as a direct means to invoke Śiva’s grace while cultivating steadiness and reverence.
Kindle a darbha-assisted sacred fire, recite the Śiva-mantra (Pañcākṣarī), purify by straining through cloth, and store in a new kumbha—an abhiṣeka preparation performed with mantra-japa and ritual cleanliness.
