Praṇava-Māhātmya and the Twofold Mantra (Sūkṣma–Sthūla) in Śaiva Sādhanā
सहस्रमंत्रजप्तेन नित्यशुद्धो भवेत्पुमान् । ततः परं स्वसिद्ध्यर्थं जपो भवति हि द्विजाः
sahasramaṃtrajaptena nityaśuddho bhavetpumān | tataḥ paraṃ svasiddhyarthaṃ japo bhavati hi dvijāḥ

In Vidyeśvarasaṃhitā, mantra-japa is typically integrated with Saguna Shiva worship—especially Linga-pūjā—where repetition stabilizes devotion and concentrates awareness on Shiva as Pati, gradually loosening the bonds (pāśa) of impurity.
A practical takeaway is to perform daily mantra-japa in a fixed count (e.g., 1000 repetitions), using a mālā if desired, as a purificatory discipline that later becomes a focused practice for siddhi and spiritual growth.
