Praṇava-Māhātmya and the Twofold Mantra (Sūkṣma–Sthūla) in Śaiva Sādhanā

नंदिसंस्थानतः पश्चान्न विदुः शिववैभवम् । नंदीश्वरो बहिस्तिष्ठन्पंचाक्षरमुपासते

naṃdisaṃsthānataḥ paścānna viduḥ śivavaibhavam | naṃdīśvaro bahistiṣṭhanpaṃcākṣaramupāsate

អ្នកដែលនៅក្រៅស្ថាននន្ទី (Nandin) មិនដឹងពិតអំពីសិរីល្អនៃព្រះសិវៈទេ។ ដូច្នេះ នន្ទីឥશ્વរ (Nandīśvara) ឈរនៅខាងក្រៅ ដោយបម្រើស្មោះ តែងបូជាព្រះអម្ចាស់តាមមន្ត្រ បញ្ចាក្សរ (Pañcākṣara)។

Sthala Purana: In the Kāśī precinct, Nandin’s station marks the liminal point of access: devotion at Nandi’s threshold is presented as the proper orientation for entering Śiva’s mystery; without that ‘inside’ stance, Śiva’s vaibhava remains unknown.

Significance: Honoring Nandi and aligning oneself in service (sevā-bhāva) is taught as a prerequisite for deeper liṅga-darśana and inner comprehension of Śiva’s glory.
