It highlights the vast, ordered retinues that move under divine command—showing that cosmic functions (creation and governance) operate through Śiva’s śakti-filled hierarchy, where Gaṇeśa as Gaṇeśvara leads hosts in service of dharma.
By portraying Gaṇeśa and other cosmic leaders as moving in disciplined service, the verse supports Saguna worship: devotees approach Śiva (often as the Liṅga) through reverence to his divine administration—Gaṇeśa foremost—recognizing Śiva as Pati, the supreme Lord who empowers all.
A practical takeaway is to begin Śiva-pūjā with Gaṇeśa-smaraṇa (invocation of Gaṇeśa) and then japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” maintaining inner order and removal of obstacles before deeper meditation on Śiva.
