Suta Goswami (narrating the Kailasa Samhita’s ritual instructions to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pasha
Mantra: oṃ (praṇava)
Type: gayatri
The verse emphasizes ordered sacred space: geometric forms (triangle, circle, square) symbolize structured purification and containment of divine presence, and the mantra “Om” sanctifies the rite so the worship becomes fit for approaching Shiva (Pati) with disciplined devotion.
It outlines preparatory upachara for Saguna Shiva worship—establishing a consecrated mandala and venerating the conch used for ritual water offerings (abhisheka and sprinkling). Such supports and vessels are treated as sacred auxiliaries to Linga-puja.
Create the prescribed mandala in sequence, invoke sanctity with “Om,” then install the conch on a clean pedestal and worship it as a purified instrument for Shiva’s abhisheka and auspicious sprinkling.
