'O Lakshmana! these mango-trees full of blossoms appear like sexited men who have applied fragrant unguents to their bodies.
Sense-experience must be governed by dharma: Rama observes eroticized spring imagery yet, as a dharmic hero, channels it toward the rightful aim (reunion through just effort), not indulgence.
Rama points out blooming mango trees and compares them to perfumed, love-excited men—continuing the spring description at Pampa.
Restraint with clarity—he can perceive beauty without losing moral orientation.
