Narrator (genealogical narration; specific speaker not stated in this single verse excerpt)

Concept: Strength and valor are framed as dharmic capacities when embedded in rightful succession; names themselves (Prasena, Śaktisena) encode ideals of prowess and disciplined power.

Application: Cultivate strength with restraint—train body and mind, but anchor power in ethics and service.

Primary Rasa: vira

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

FAQs

It continues a genealogical sequence, preserving the transmission of a lineage by naming descendants and their notable qualities.

Not directly; it is primarily genealogical. Any implied lesson is the Purāṇic emphasis on continuity of dharma through lineages and remembered names.

They are presented as the two sons of Nighna, with Prasena specifically described as “mahāvīrya” (great in valor), and Śaktisena named as the other son.
