Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada / through Narada’s received teaching to a king)
Vrata: Harivāsara vrata (Ekadashi-related day of Vishnu; fasting discipline implied)
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It elevates satya (truthfulness) and Hari-vāsara observance (Ekādaśī discipline) as non-negotiable pillars of dharma, teaching that fidelity to dharma may demand extreme personal sacrifice.
By commanding “do not eat on Hari’s day,” it frames Ekādaśī as a concrete bhakti-practice where bodily restraint becomes an offering to Hari (Viṣṇu), strengthening devotion through vrata (vow).
It highlights practical vrata-dharma and calendrical observance (tithi-based Ekādaśī as Hari-vāsara), aligning conduct with sacred time—an applied aspect of jyotiṣa-style religious calendrics used in Purāṇic ritual life.
