एतत्‌ प्रत्यक्षत: सर्व पूर्व वृत्तं द्विजोत्तम । तस्मादिच्छाम्यहं श्रोतुं सर्वहेत्वात्मिकां कथाम्‌

Transliteration

etat pratyakṣataḥ sarvaṃ pūrva-vṛttaṃ dvijottama | tasmād icchāmy ahaṃ śrotuṃ sarva-hetv-ātmikāṃ kathām ||

Translation

វៃសម្បាយនៈបានមានពាក្យថា៖ «ឱ ព្រហ្មណ៍ឧត្តម—អ្នកជាអ្នកកើតជាថ្មី (ទ្វិជ) ដ៏ប្រសើរ—រឿងរ៉ាវបុរាណទាំងនេះ អ្នកបានដឹងដោយផ្ទាល់។ ដូច្នេះ ខ្ញុំប្រាថ្នាស្តាប់ពីមាត់អ្នក នូវកថាដែលបកស្រាយហេតុដើម និងកាលៈទេសៈ—ពេលវេលា និងលក្ខខណ្ឌ—ដែលក្លាយជាមូលហេតុនៃសព្វសេចក្តីទាំងអស់»។
