Educational Q&A

The verse highlights political and ethical discernment: anger can be ‘proper’ (sthāne) when grounded in justice, and recognizing such justified wrath should prompt timely, responsible action—here, urgent diplomacy—to prevent escalation.

The speaker reports fear after witnessing a powerful person’s justified anger and immediately orders Sanjaya to depart by chariot to the Panchala king’s military camp—setting up an urgent diplomatic contact in the tense lead-up to war.
