लोकस्तं वेद यदहं पितु: प्रियचिकीर्षया । प्राप्तं राज्यं परित्यज्य ब्रह्म॒चर्यव्रते स्थित:
lokas taṃ veda yad ahaṃ pituḥ priyacikīrṣayā | prāptaṃ rājyaṃ parityajya brahmacaryavrate sthitaḥ ||
ភីṣ្មៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «លោកលោកាទាំងមូលដឹងថា ដោយបំណងធ្វើអ្វីដែលជាទីពេញព្រះហឫទ័យបិតា ខ្ញុំបានបោះបង់រាជ្យដែលបានមកដល់ខ្ញុំ ហើយឈរយ៉ាងមាំមួនក្នុងវ្រតព្រហ្មចារីយ៍ជីវិតមួយ»។
