पतत्यभिमुख: शूर: परान् भीरु: पलायते । आस्थाय स्वर्ग्यमध्वानं सहायान् विषमे त्यजेत्
pataty abhimukhaḥ śūraḥ parān bhīruḥ palāyate | āsthāya svargyam adhvānaṃ sahāyān viṣame tyajet ||
ភីෂ្មៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «វីរបុរសរត់ចូលទៅមុខប្រឈមមុខសត្រូវដោយល្បឿន; តែអ្នកខ្លាចវិលខ្នងរត់គេច។ ហើយទោះបានចូលដំណើរលើ ‘ផ្លូវនាំទៅសួគ៌’—ផ្លូវនៃកាតព្វកិច្ចវីរភាព—ក៏អ្នកខ្លាចបែបនោះនៅតែបោះបង់សហាយរបស់ខ្លួនចោល នៅកណ្ដាលគ្រោះថ្នាក់»។
