परिव्राजक-आचारः (Conduct of the Wandering Renunciant) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 269
एवमेव ब्रह्माचारी शुश्रूषुर्घोरनिश्वय: । एवं युक्तो ब्राह्मण: स्यादन्यो ब्राह्मणको भवेत्
evam eva brahmacārī śuśrūṣur ghoraniścayaḥ | evaṁ yukto brāhmaṇaḥ syād anyo brāhmaṇako bhavet ||
ដូច្នោះដែរ មានតែព្រះសិស្សប្រកាន់ព្រហ្មចរិយៈ ដែលឧស្សាហ៍បម្រើគ្រូ ដោយសេចក្តីតាំងចិត្តរឹងមាំ និងមានវិន័យក្នុងយោគៈ ប៉ុណ្ណោះ ទើបក្លាយជាព្រាហ្មណ៍ពិត។ អ្នកដែលខុសពីនេះ ត្រូវចាត់ទុកថាជាព្រាហ្មណ៍ទាប—ឬគ្រាន់តែព្រាហ្មណ៍តាមឈ្មោះប៉ុណ្ណោះ។
