वैश्यो वैश्यैस्तथा श्राव्य: शूद्र: शूद्रैमहामना: । माहात्म्यं देवदेवस्य विष्णोरमिततेजस:

vaiśyo vaiśyais tathā śrāvyaḥ śūdraḥ śūdrair mahāmanāḥ | māhātmyaṃ devadevasya viṣṇor amitatejasaḥ ||

ភីष្មៈបានមានពាក្យថា៖ «វៃś្យៈគួរទទួលការបង្រៀនពីវៃś្យៈ ហើយស៊ូទ្រៈដែលមានចិត្តខ្ពង់ខ្ពស់ គួរទទួលពីស៊ូទ្រៈ។ ដូច្នេះ គួររៀបរាប់មហិមារបស់វិṣṇu—ព្រះនៃព្រះទាំងឡាយ មានពន្លឺអស្ចារ្យមិនអាចវាស់បាន»។
