जघान गौतमो राजन्‌ यथा दस्युगणास्तथा । हिंसापटर्घणाहीन: सदा प्राणिवधे रत:

Transliteration

jaghāna gautamo rājan yathā dasyugaṇās tathā | hiṁsāpaṭarghaṇāhīnaḥ sadā prāṇivadhē rataḥ ||

Translation

ភីṣ្មៈបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «ព្រះរាជា​អើយ! គោតមៈបានសម្លាប់សត្វមានជីវិត ដូចជាក្រុមចោរប្លន់ធ្វើដែរ។ គាត់គ្មានការទប់ស្កាត់ចំពោះអំពើហិង្សា ហើយតែងតែរីករាយក្នុងការសម្លាប់សត្វលោក។»
