तम्मित्र कारणं सर्व विस्तरेणापि मे शूणु । कारणात्‌ प्रियतामेति द्वेष्यो भवति कारणात्‌

Transliteration

tan mitra kāraṇaṁ sarvaṁ vistareṇāpi me śṛṇu | kāraṇāt priyatām eti dveṣyo bhavati kāraṇāt ||

Translation

ភីṣ្មៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «មិត្តអើយ ចូរស្តាប់ ខណៈដែលខ្ញុំពន្យល់ហេតុផលទាំងមូលនេះឲ្យលម្អិត។ សូម្បីតែពាក្យផ្អែមដែលអ្នកនិយាយថា ‘ថ្ងៃនេះ អ្នកមើលទៅជាទីស្រឡាញ់ចំពោះខ្ញុំ’ ក៏មានហេតុដែរ។ មនុស្សក្លាយជាទីស្រឡាញ់ដោយហេតុ ហើយក៏ក្លាយជាទីស្អប់ដោយហេតុដែរ»។
