ब्रवीषि मधुरं यच्च प्रियो मे5द्य भवानिति
bravīṣi madhuraṁ yac ca priyo me ’dya bhavān iti |
ភីṣ្មៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ «អ្នកនិយាយពាក្យផ្អែមល្ហែមថា ‘ថ្ងៃនេះ អ្នកមើលទៅជាទីស្រឡាញ់ចំពោះខ្ញុំ’—សូម្បីតែវាក៏មានហេតុផលដែរ មិត្តអើយ។ ខ្ញុំនឹងពន្យល់ឲ្យលម្អិត—ចូរស្តាប់។ មនុស្សក្លាយជាទីស្រឡាញ់ដោយហេតុ ហើយក៏ក្លាយជាទីស្អប់ដោយហេតុដែរ»។
