अपने ऊपर आक्रमण करनेवाले नकुलके पास पहुँचकर वृषसेनने अपने सायकोंद्वारा उन्हें सब ओरसे बींध डाला। बाणोंसे पीड़ित हुए नकुल अत्यन्त कुपित हो उठे और स्वयं घायल होकर उन्होंने वीर वृषसेनको भी बींध डाला ।।
mahābhaye rakṣyamāṇo mahātmā bhrātrā bhīmenākarot tatra bhīmam | taṁ karṇaputro vidhamantam ekaṁ narāśvam ātaḍḍa rathān anekān ||
សញ្ជ័យបាននិយាយថា៖ វ្រឹសសេនបានចូលទៅជិតនគុល—អ្នកដែលវាយប្រហារលើគាត់—ហើយបាញ់ព្រួញចាក់គាត់ពីគ្រប់ទិស។ នគុលដែលរងទុក្ខដោយព្រួញ ក៏កើតកំហឹងខ្លាំង ហើយទោះខ្លួនឯងរងរបួស ក៏បានចាក់វីរវ្រឹសសេនវិញដែរ។ នៅក្នុងគ្រាភ័យធំ នគុលអ្នកមានចិត្តខ្ពង់ខ្ពស់ ដែលបងភីមការពារ បានឈរតស៊ូយ៉ាងសាហាវនៅទីនោះ។ បន្ទាប់មក កូនករណៈ (វ្រឹសសេន) បានវាយបំផ្លាញរថជាច្រើន ព្រមទាំងមនុស្ស និងសេះ ដោយវាយលើអ្នកប្រយុទ្ធតែម្នាក់ដែលកំពុងកាត់បំបែកជួរ។
