The verse highlights gṛhastha-dharma: a virtuous household member seeks to please and honor the worthy (especially a brāhmaṇa/elder) through respectful speech and simple, sincere hospitality—showing that ethical intent and reverence are central to right conduct.
A virtuous daughter-in-law approaches with saktūn (roasted barley-flour), feels joy, and speaks to her father-in-law, indicating a moment of courteous offering and respectful communication within the household setting.
