तेषां तदभवद् युद्ध दशाहानि महात्मनाम् | कुरूणां पाण्डवानां च सुमहल्लोमहर्षणम्,उन महामनस्वी कौरवों और पाण्डवोंमें दस दिनोंतक महान् रोमांचकारी युद्ध हुआ
teṣāṃ tad abhavad yuddhaṃ daśāhāni mahātmanām | kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca sumahallomaharṣaṇam ||
វាសុទេវមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «ដូច្នេះ ក្នុងចំណោមវីរបុរសចិត្តធំទាំងនោះ មានសង្គ្រាមមហាអស្ចារ្យកើតឡើងរយៈពេលដប់ថ្ងៃ—រវាងកុរុ និងបណ្ឌវ—ជាការប្រយុទ្ធដ៏ធំធេង ធ្វើឲ្យសក់ឈររន្ធត់ ដោយទំហំនៃហិង្សាដ៏សាហាវ។»
