Educational Q&A

Persistent inclination toward adharma—expressed through greed and harsh, unwholesome speech—leads to ruin. The verse frames the Kauravas’ downfall as an ethical consequence of character and conduct, not merely a battlefield accident.

Vāyu comments on the fate of the Dhārtarāṣṭras (the Kaurava side), stating that because they were greedy, unrighteous, and harsh in speech, they were destroyed along with their associates and supporters—summarizing the moral rationale for their defeat.
