न ते शोच्या महात्मान: सर्व एव नर्षभा: | क्षत्रधर्मपरा: सनन््तस्तथा हि निधन गता:
vyāsa uvāca | na te śocyā mahātmānaḥ sarva eva nararṣabhāḥ | kṣatradharmaparāḥ santaḥ tathā hi nidhanaṃ gatāḥ ||
ព្រះវ្យាសមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ «អ្នកមិនគួរសោកស្តាយចំពោះវីរបុរសចិត្តធំទាំងនោះឡើយ—បុរសដ៏ប្រសើរដូចគោឧសភក្នុងចំណោមមនុស្ស។ ពួកគេបានឈរលើធម៌របស់ក្សត្រិយៈ ហើយបានទៅដល់មរណភាពតាមរបៀបដែលវីរបុរសត្រូវទៅដល់—ស្លាប់ស្របតាមកាតព្វកិច្ច»។
व्यास उवाच
Grief is tempered by dharma: those who lived and died aligned with kṣatriya-duty are not to be lamented as if their end were meaningless; their death is framed as a duty-fulfilled, honorable completion.
Vyāsa addresses a grieving listener in the aftermath of the great war, urging them to refrain from mourning the fallen heroes, since they died as kṣatriyas should—steadfast in their ordained role.
