Righteous sacrificial merit (kratuphala) is presented as ethically transformative: it purifies beings, removes sin (pāpa), and increases inner and outer radiance (tejas and dyuti), emphasizing that dharmic action refines character and spiritual potency.
In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma continues instructing Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma and the fruits of virtuous practices. Here he highlights the purifying and ennobling results that arise from a sacrificial act—its merit makes the performer sinless and radiant.
