अस्वामिकस्य स्वामित्वं यस्मिन् सम्प्रति लक्ष्यते । यो वर्ण: पोषयेत् तं च तद्धर्णस्तस्य जायते
asvāmakasya svāmitvaṃ yasmin samprati lakṣyate | yo varṇaḥ poṣayet taṃ ca tadvarṇas tasya jāyate ||
ភីष្ម បាននិយាយ៖ «ចំពោះកុមារដែលគ្មានម្ចាស់ឬអាណាព្យាបាលដែលត្រូវទទួលស្គាល់—អ្នកណាដែលនៅពេលបច្ចុប្បន្នត្រូវបានឃើញថាជាអ្នកកាន់កាប់អាណាព្យាបាល និងចិញ្ចឹមថែទាំគេ—អ្នកនោះស្ថិតក្នុងវណ្ណៈណា វណ្ណៈនោះក៏ត្រូវបានចាត់ទុកថាបានកើតឡើងសម្រាប់កុមារនោះដែរ។»
