बन्दी तु जायते वैश्यान्मागधो वाक्यजीवन: । शूद्रान्निषादो मत्स्यघ्न: क्षत्रियायां व्यतिक्रमात्
bhīṣma uvāca | bandī tu jāyate vaiśyān māgadho vākyajīvanaḥ | śūdrān niṣādo matsyaghnaḥ kṣatriyāyāṃ vyatikramāt ||
ភីष្មបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ ពីបុរសវៃស្យ បើមានការរួមស្នេហ៍លើសលំដាប់ជាមួយស្ត្រីក្សត្រីយ នឹងកើតកូនហៅថា «វន្ទី» ឬ «មាគធ»; គេរស់ដោយពាក្យសម្តី—ដោយសរសើរ និងប្រកាសគុណរបស់អ្នកដទៃ។ ដូចគ្នានេះ ពីបុរសសូទ្រ ដោយការរំលោភលំដាប់ជាមួយស្ត្រីក្សត្រីយ នឹងកើត «និសាទ» ដែលមុខរបរគឺសម្លាប់ត្រី។
