अनुकूलामनुवंशां क्रात्रा दत्तामुपाग्निकाम् । परिक्रम्य यथान्यायं भार्या विन्देद् द्विजोत्तम:
anukūlām anuvaṁśāṁ ca bhrātrā dattām upāgnikām | parikramya yathānyāyaṁ bhāryāṁ vinded dvijottamaḥ ||
ភីष្មបានមានព្រះបន្ទូលថា៖ ព្រះទ្វិជល្អឥតខ្ចោះគួរទទួលយកជាប្រពន្ធ នារីដែលមានចិត្តសមរម្យ សមនឹងវង្សត្រកូល ត្រូវបានប្រគល់ឲ្យតាមធម៌ដោយបងប្រុសរបស់នាង ហើយអង្គុយជិតភ្លើងបរិសុទ្ធដែលកំពុងឆេះ; បន្ទាប់ពីដើរបរិក្រមជុំវិញភ្លើងតាមវិធីត្រឹមត្រូវ គាត់គួរទទួលនាងតាមបទបញ្ញត្តិសាស្ត្រ។
