तत्त्वं जिज्ञासमानानां चक्षुर्भवतु नो भवान् | तानेवं ब्रुवत: सर्वान् सत्यवान् वाक््यमब्रवीत्
tattvaṃ jijñāsamānānāṃ cakṣur bhavatu no bhavān | tān evaṃ bruvataḥ sarvān satyavān vākyam abravīt |
«យើងប្រាថ្នាដឹងសេចក្តីពិតនៃរឿងនេះតាមដែលវាជាក់ស្តែង។ សូមលោកធ្វើជាភ្នែកណែនាំផ្លូវសម្រាប់យើង។» ពេលពួកគេទាំងអស់និយាយដូច្នេះ សત્યវានបានឆ្លើយតបដោយពាក្យរបស់គាត់។
भीष्य उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical posture of sincere inquiry: seekers of truth should approach a knowledgeable person with humility and request clear guidance, treating the teacher as ‘eyes’ that enable right understanding.
A group of people expresses a desire to know the matter in its true form and asks for guidance; in response to their collective request, Satyavān begins his reply.
