Śulka, Kanyā, and Dauhitra-Riktha: Discourse on Bride-Price and Inheritance Rights (शुल्क-कन्या-दौहित्र-रिक्थविचारः)
एतत् श्र॒ुत्वा तु विपुलो विषण्णवदनो5भवत् | एवं तीव्रतपाश्चाहं कष्टश्षायं परिश्रम:
etat śrutvā tu vipulo viṣaṇṇavadano 'bhavat | evaṁ tīvratapaś cāhaṁ kaṣṭaśṣāyaṁ pariśramaḥ |
ភីṣ្មៈបានមានព្រះវាចា៖ ពេលបានឮដូច្នោះ វិបុលាមុខស្រងូតស្រងាត់ដោយទុក្ខសោក។ គាត់គិតថា៖ «បើសូម្បីតែខ្ញុំ—អ្នកធ្វើតបស្យាដ៏តឹងរឹង—ត្រូវជួបវាសនាអាក្រក់ នោះការខិតខំធ្វើតបស្យាដ៏ឃោរឃៅនេះ ក៏ហាក់ដូចជាក្លាយទៅជាការឈឺចាប់តែប៉ុណ្ណោះ»។
